Wednesday’s game between the Pirates and Milwaukee Brewers has been postponed due to heavy rain after a delay that lasted more than two hours.

The Pirates initially announced a start time of 8:40 p.m., but the tarp went back on as a second storm rolled through the region. Water pooled in shallow left field, flooded the warning track and streamed down the steps of the visitors’ dugout, flooding the tunnel behind it up to the shins.
The game will be made up at a later date, which has not been announced. The Brewers and Pirates share a mutual day off Sept. 20 and the Brewers are scheduled for a weekend series here Sept. 21-23, but there is no indication that the game will be made up at that time.
Chad Kuhl, Wednesday’s scheduled starter, will start Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Kuhl, Ivan Nova, Joe Musgrove and Trevor Williams will start during the four-game series.
The game will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader July 14, with the first game beginning at 12:35 p.m.
