MINNEAPOLIS — The Cleveland Indians purchased minor league left-hander Jayson Aquino from the Pirates Wednesday.

The Pirates had designated Aquino for assignment July 22 to make room for Pedro Florimon on the 40-man roster. They acquired him from the Toronto Blue Jays for cash in May, and he made 13 starts with Class A Bradenton.

Aquino, 22, had a 3.78 ERA in 78 2/3 innings.
