Josh Archibald is taking the spiritual experience of winning the Stanley Cup to a new level.
The Penguins winger had his son, Brecken, baptized in the NHL’s championship trophy during his day with it Wednesday in Brainerd, Minn. The Hockey Hall of Fame’s Philip Pritchard captured the moment on Twitter.

It’s not the first time the Cup has doubled as a baptismal font. Detroit’s Tomas Holmstrom used it for that purpose after his Red Wings beat the Penguins in 2008.
Still, it’s a bit strange to see such a solemn moment take place in the same bowl that held teammate Phil Kessel’s hot dogs just a few weeks ago.
