Penguins sign center to entry-level contract

The Penguins signed center Dustin Jeffrey to an entry-level contract today.

Jeffrey, a sixth-round choice in the June entry draft, plays for Sault Ste. Marie of the Ontario Hockey League. He has four goals and eight assists in five games with the Greyhounds.

He appeared in two preseason games with the Penguins after earning an invitation to training camp last month with his strong showing at a rookie tournament in Kitchener, Ontario.
