Sanshiro Abe is the new wrestling coach at North Allegheny. Abe, a four-time NCAA Division I All-American at Penn State from 1993-96, moves to North Allegheny after posting a 55-40 record in seven seasons at Central Catholic. Abe is replacing Jamie Kyriazis, who retired after 15 seasons. The Tigers posted a 217-68 record during Kyriazis’ tenure and qualified for the WPIAL team tournament in every season under his watch. He led the Tigers to 14 section titles. He also led North Allegheny to the WPIAL title match in 2012 before losing to powerhouse Canon-McMillan.
