Duquesne men’s basketball assistant coach Brian Nash will leave the Dukes staff to become director of basketball for IMG Academy, his new school announced Monday afternoon.
Nash was associate head coach under Jim Ferry at Duquesne from the time Ferry took over in 2012. At IMG Academy, a high school athletics powerhouse in Bradenton, Fla., Nash “will oversee [the] basketball program for its youth and student-athletes, as well as its camps and training programs for post-graduate and professional players.”
The departure of Nash opens a spot on Ferry’s staff, and his replacement could come from within the program or from an outside hire. Ferry’s other assistants are Rich Glesmann, Danny Lawson and John Rhodes, although Rhodes continues to recover from his bout with skin cancer.
