Lower Burrell woman killed in overnight house fire

A Lower Burrell woman was killed in a house fire that started late Wednesday night, officials said.

Kimberly George, 50, died just after midnight Thursday, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner. 

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette news partner KDKA-TV reported that firefighters were called to a Westmoreland County home just after 11 p.m. Wednesday. KDKA said a neighbor saw the flames and called 911.

Ms. George was taken to the hospital, where she died, KDKA reported. The home that caught fire is in the 200 block of Trailer Boulevard, the medical examiner said.

Pennsylvania state police are investigating the cause of the blaze.
