A boil water advisory is in effect at least through Thursday morning for about 300 homes in Aliquippa and Hopewell that were without service Tuesday.
A leak in a water main near a booster station in the Beaver County Sheffield Terrace neighborhood Tuesday interrupted service, which was fixed by 4 p.m., according to Municipal Water Authority General Manager Bob Bible. The authority is advising residents to boil water through Thursday when water testing results will be available. Mr. Bible said he expected normal service to resume Thursday.
In the meantime, is making gallon jugs of drinking water available at its Hopewell Road treatment plant.
