Memorial ride will honor bicyclist who was killed in Aliquippa

A memorial bicycle ride will be held Sunday in Beaver County in honor of an Aliquippa man who was struck and killed by a vehicle last month.

Taylor Lee Banks, 23, was riding on Route 51 near the West Aliquippa Bridge about 7 p.m. Oct. 31 when he was hit by a passing vehicle that left the scene.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. at 1726 Pennsylvania Ave. in Monaca, and a group will ride south on Route 51 followed by a support van. Riders will stop at 102 Baker St. in Aliquippa to meet the Banks family and dedicate a ghost bike memorial.
