A man and a woman are dead after an early-morning house fire in Duquesne.
First responders received the call shorty after midnight to the home in the 1100 block of Karl Avenue.
Heavy, black smoke could be seen coming from the back of the 2½-story brick structure, according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette news partner KDKA-TV.

Duquesne fire Chief Frank Cobb said one of the victims was found at the top of the stairs and the other in a second-floor bedroom, KDKA reported. A pet was also found dead.
Allegheny County Police and multiple fire companies were on the scene.
The county fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
