Train derails in McKeesport

The derailment of a freight train in McKeesport kept emergency responders on the scene overnight.

The McKeesport Marina, located below the derailment site, was evacuated when CSX cars that appeared to be moving salvage went off the rails at about 11 p.m. at a railway bridge near the Jerome Street Bridge.

Also, a section of West Fifth Avenue and Lysle Boulevard was closed.

An emergency dispatch supervisor said the scene was cleared at 6:30 a.m. today and that a company had been called to remove the derailed cars.
