Citizens will have an opportunity to view plans and make comments about an upcoming major construction project on Lincoln Way in White Oak this evening.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will hold an open house from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the White Oak borough building, 2280 Lincoln Way.
The $6.9 million project calls for widening and resurfacing 1.3 miles of the two-lane road from Route 48 to Nelson Street with the addition of a center turn lane; realignment of Henderson Road and Guice Street; and curb, sidewalk, signal and intersection improvements.
Work is scheduled to start soon and carry into 2015, with a pause from November through March. Traffic restrictions will occur in nonpeak hours and two full weekend closures and detours are possible.
About 23,600 vehicles use the road on a typical day.
