Governor Tom Wolf announced the release of funds to support the costs of upgrading traffic signals under the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s “Green Light-Go” program.
The reimbursement grants can be used on existing traffic signals, installing light-emitting diode (LED) technology, performing regional operations such as re-timing, developing special event plans and monitoring traffic signals, as well as upgrading traffic signals to the latest technologies.
Act 101 of 2016 recently provided updates to the program by reducing the applicant match to 20 percent, expanding the list of eligible applicants.
Allegheny County:
Bethel Park $57,995 for pedestrian and vehicle LED replacement along Route 88 at Corrigan Drive and signal re-timing along Bethel Church Road at Highland Avenue.
Bridgeville $213,282 for the installation of signal equipment and software along Washington Avenue at Station Street, Bower Hill Road and Prestley Road.
East Deer $83,200 for LED upgrades along Freeport Road at Third Street.
Green Tree $243,360 for upgrading the overhead lane control systems to LED along Greentree Road.
Monroeville $198,370 for signal replacement along Northern Pike at Patty Lane.
Moon $296,206 for signal improvements along University Boulevard.
Mt. Lebanon $152,489 for intersection improvements along Castle Shannon Boulevard at Anawanda Street.
Mt. Lebanon $363,520 for signal upgrades at 30 intersections.
Mt. Lebanon $178,760 for improvements along Cedar Boulevard at Greenhurst Drive.
Mt. Lebanon $231,032 for improvements along Bower Hill Road at Kelso Road.
South Fayette $77,484 for installation of signal equipment and software along Washington Pike at Bursca Drive and at Twin Ponds Lane.
Springdale Borough $173,064 for signal replacement along Pittsburgh Street at Colfax Street.
Upper St Clair $461,289 for signal upgrades along McMurray Road at Johnson Road and along McLaughlin Run Road at Route 19 southbound ramps.
Butler County:
Connoquenessing Township $160,000 for signal upgrades along Route 68 at Kriess Road and Eagle Mill Road.
Cranberry $138,240 for installation of signal equipment and software along the Route 19.
Cranberry $612,050 for signal upgrade along Route 19 at St. Francis Way.
Washington County:
Cecil $416,850 for signal system upgrades at seven intersections along the Southpointe Boulevard corridor.
Peters $382,950 for signal upgrades at the intersection of McMurray Road and Valleybrook Road.
Westmoreland County:
Washington Township $16,000 for signal activities.
