A 48-year-old Butler County woman was killed early Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in Mercer County.
State police in Mercer said the accident happened on Interstate 79 southbound in Jackson at 12:04 a.m.
Kelly A. Tincher of Slippery Rock was killed in the crash, police said.
She was driving in the left lane, being followed by a vehicle driven by Joshua A. Latona, 33, of Dunkirk, N.Y., police said, when Mr. Latona's vehicle struck the back of Ms. Tincher's vehicle.
Her 2010 Mercury Mariner spun out of control, as did Mr. Latona's 2016 Chevrolet Trax.
Both were taken to Grove City Medical Center, where Ms. Tincher was pronounced dead. Mr. Latona was transferred to a Pittsburgh hospital.
Police said their investigation is continuing but noted that Mr. Latona will be charged with following too closely.
