The Mars Area school board Tuesday approved a $43.5 million budget that keeps the property tax rate at 99 mills.
The budget was 5 percent higher than this year’s budget on both the revenue and expenditure side. Increased revenue was generated by new houses and businesses, as well as increased earned income tax, said Jill Swaney, business manager.
It maintains all programs and adds six professional positions.
