Police: Body found in Ohio River near former SCI Pittsburgh

River Rescue responded to an area of the Ohio River on Thursday afternoon after a survey crew found a body in the water.

At 2:45 p.m., River Rescue, Pittsburgh EMS and city police responded to the scene, which was near the old state prison along the Ohio River in Marshall-Shadeland, the public safety department said.

The body was transferred to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office. An investigation is ongoing.
