Body recovered from Mon River identified

Pittsburgh police are investigating after a man’s body was found floating in the Monongahela River near the Liberty Bridge Friday night.

Zone 3 police responded to reports of the body spotted in the river just after 6:15 p.m., city public safety officials said. River Rescue arrived on scene and retrieved the body near South Fourth Street. 

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office Saturday identified the victim as David Roberts, 53, of Mount Oliver.
