The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette won two best-of-show honors and 22 Golden Quills - first-place finishes - at the 54th annual Golden Quill Awards banquet Thursday night. Sponsored by the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania, the contest recognizes excellence in written, visual, broadcast and online journalism.
In the best-of-show categories for Quill award winners, the Post-Gazette’s Steve Mellon and Stephanie Strasburg won the Ed Romano Memorial Award, Photography, and Michael A. Fuoco and Ashley Murray won the Ed King Memorial Award, Radio and Podcasts.
The Post-Gazette also had 47 finalists in assorted categories in the Golden Quill contest.
