Water main break affects PWSA customers in part of South Side

The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority said a water main break in the South Side will leave customers on part of West Carson Street without service until early Saturday.

A 16-inch break forced a PWSA contractor to shut off water to customers on West Carson Street between the Fort Pitt Bridge and West End Bridge, the authority said. Water service should be restored by about 2 a.m., according to PWSA.

PWSA said affected customers have been notified via robocalls.

Traffic on West Carson Street will be restricted to one lane in each direction until repairs are completed.
