Vehicle fire extinguished in Fort Pitt Tunnel

A vehicle fire inside the Fort Pitt Tunnel has been extinguished and traffic is moving again inbound, toward Downtown Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh firefighters responded to the fire about 3:15 p.m. and had the fire out and the vehicle moved about 30 minutes later.

No injuries were reported.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said that although traffic is moving, motorists should expect residual delays because of the backup on the Parkway West caused by the fire.
