Allegheny County Medical Society Awards Gala held at Heinz Field Club East Lounge

#IsthereaDoctorintheHouse: Nearly 450 guests made their way to Heinz Field Club East Lounge, North Shore, for the Allegheny County Medical Society Foundation’s Awards Gala. Outgoing president of the ACMS Dr. John Williams passed the gavel to new president Dr. Lawrence John. That event followed a cocktail reception featuring a silent auction using electronic bidding and the sounds of The Groove Doctors and dinner. Lisa Washington of KDKA-TV news was the evening’s emcee, which included the awards presentations. Dr. James Betler received the Physician Volunteer Award and Dr. Robert Potter was presented with the Nathaniel Bedford Primary Care Award. Dr. James Bradley was honored with the Ralph C. Wilde Leadership Award and Dr. Fred Rubin received the Richard E. Deitrick Humanity in Medicine Award. Registered nurse Donamarie Wilfong was recognized with the Benjamin Rush Individual Award. Bridge to Hope received the Benjamin Rush Community Organization Award. The late Dr. Andrew Fisher was given a Special Citation posthumously. He was killed while trying to help an injured traveler after an auto accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in December 2013.
