'Restored' co-star Leanne Ford partners with Formica

Leanne Ford, a local designer who co-stars with her brother Steve in the HGTV show “Restored by the Fords,” has partnered with Formica Corp. to explore new uses for laminate in the home.

On Tuesday, Formica began to air television spots featuring Ms. Ford with several new products, including a coffee table, platform bed, counter top and sliding door made for written messages.

Under the two-year agreement, Ms. Ford will collaborate with the manufacturer on new products and incorporate Formica laminate into projects featured on the show. She and her brother grew up in Upper St. Clair.

“Formica laminate is an iconic brand and an amazing material for creating stylish looks in any home with any budget,” she said in a press release. “I am so excited to experiment with these patterns and styles, and to think of fresh ways to use laminate…. I’ve already started using it in some of my current projects.”
