In honor of Marc-Andre Fleury: Primanti's Pitts-Burger goes Canadian

Primanti Bros.’ Pitts-Burger gets a French Canadian makeover in honor of Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.

The Canadian Pitts-Burger will be available starting today when the Penguins begin round two of the playoff series. Built on the famed beef steak Pitts-Burger, the sandwich will be stacked with Canadian bacon, cheddar cheese, a fried egg, tomato and, of course, slaw and fries. It costs $9.29 plus tax.

“The Flower’s been in town since 2003. At this point, he’s practically a hometown boy,” said Toni Haggerty, longtime manager at the Strip District location, in a press release. She continued that it’s probably not a great idea for Mr. Fleury to come by for the new sandwich. “He better not. He’s got a lot of work to do.”

Over the phone Ms. Haggerty said, if Mr. Fleury does however drop by he won’t get any special treatment. “We love him, but he will get the same sandwich that everybody else gets. We treat everybody the same here,” she said, laughing.
