Reed Smith revenue rises 7 percent

Law firm Reed Smith reported today that its 2014 revenue increased 7 percent year-over-year, to $1.15 billion, compared to $1.08 billion in 2013.

The Downtown law firm said profits-per-partner rose by 6 percent, from $1.14 million in 2013, to $1.2 million last year. Revenue-per-lawyer was also up slightly year-over-year, from $691,000 to $703,000. The firm has a total of 1,890 lawyers in 25 offices around the world.

"Based on the firm's record of successful integration and performance in new markets in the past, we anticipate strategic expansion will allow us to further expand our client relationships," global managing partner Alexander "Sandy" Thomas said in a statement.
