Pittsburgh gasoline prices have fallen an average 0.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.53 cents per gallon, according to a daily survey of 731 gasoline outlets in Pittsburgh conducted by the price-tracking website GasBuddy.com.
This compares with the national average price for gasoline that has fallen 1.7 cents in the last week to $2.24 cents per gallon, according to GasBuddy.
Including the change in gas prices in Pittsburgh during the past week, prices over the weekend were 5.8 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and were 6.4 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.
The national average has decreased 5 cents per gallon during the last month and stands at 3.3 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.com, said while the national average edged lower by a couple of cents, 20 states saw average prices move higher, two states saw prices little changed and 28 states saw average prices decline.
