Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Fayette County, went through a reorganization of its workforce earlier this year, eliminating 51 positions, a spokeswoman confirmed.
“Over the past three years, Nemacolin has undergone a $75 million transformation including extensive renovations to the chateau,” said Diane Centeno, director of marketing and public relations.
Ms. Centeno said the jobs eliminated as part of the workforce reorganization represented less than 5 percent of the operation’s employees. “We do not take this task lightly and it was an unfortunate, but necessary consequence of the restructuring that some positions were lost,” she said.
The positions eliminated were redundant in administrative and support functions. “They do not impact guest service and associates in roles that were impacted were encouraged to apply to open positions,” she said.
The resort continues to hire for open positions.
