Chelsea Handler will hold court at the Benedum Center in LGBT benefit event

“An Evening With Chelsea Handler” is coming to the Benedum Center April 4 in a Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh benefit for the city’s LGBT community.

Ms. Handler, a TV host, comedian and activist, will be joined by host Bruce Vilanch, the comedy writer known for his appearances on “Hollywood Squares” and on Broadway in “Hairspray.”

When Ms. Handler’s most recent TV talk show ended in October 2017, she announced that she was going to pursue political activism.

“I want to travel the country and visit areas and people I don’t know enough about and gain a better understanding,” she said in a statement. “I have joined forces with EMILY’s List to elect more women to public office, register people to vote, and campaign for candidates who are fighting for women’s rights, LGBT rights, and gun control.”

Showtime is 7:30 p.m.; tickets go on sale 9 a.m. Feb. 14 at trustarts.org.
