Lee Terbosic brings his magic to a residency at Pittsburgh's Hotel Monaco

Magician Lee Terbosic — the guy who performed the Houdini-like stunt with a straitjacket 90 feet up in the air Downtown last November — will be in residence at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh starting Oct. 13

That’s when he will premiere his one-man magic show “52 Up Close,” using a pack of playing cards and his skills. Shows are at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, with each running 75 minutes. The venue will seat 52 guests.

“This show gives you the chance to see with your own eyes what truly amazing things can be done when there are only ‘52 Up Close,’ ”  Mr. Terbosic said in a statement.

You may remember the Pittsburgh native’s name from his high-altitude feat the day of the EQT 10-miler last November, when he freed himself from a straitjacket while dangling upside down above the Downtown intersection of Liberty Avenue and Wood Street. The event was the re-creation of a stunt performed on the same day and in the same location 100 years earlier by Harry Houdini.

Magician Lee Terbosic celebrates Sunday while holding the straitjacket he had just escaped from while suspended 90 feet, upside down in the air. Mr. Terbosic recreated the stunt, made famous by Harry Houdini on the 100th anniversary that Houdini pulled off the feat at the same location at Wood Street and Liberty Avenue in Downtown.
