Pittsburgh CLO’s summer of 2018 will open with the regional premiere of “On Your Feet!” the Emilio and Gloria Estefan musical that is still dancing up a storm on Broadway.
The national tour begins in September and will conga its way to Downtown’s Benedum Center next June. Pittsburgh CLO is a producer of the show that opened in November 2015 and chronicles the Cuban-born Estefans’ rise to fame in the music business.
Pittsburgh CLO ventures into new territory with its first production of the Tony Award-winning musical “Titanic” and gets racy with “The Full Monty,” which it first presented in 2007.
An intriguing return to CLO’s schedule is “Brigadoon,” which the company now will have presented in each of its seven decades, starting in 1950. Before Pittsburgh CLO returns to the Scottish moors, “Brigadoon” will have another revival — the early Lerner & Lowe show will be presented in a New York City Center concert production in November, starring Patrick Wilson and Kelli O’Hara and with familiar names from “An American in Paris,” including director-choreographer Christopher Wheeldon.
