Mt. Lebanon star Daya will release debut album Oct. 7

Daya, the 17-year-old Mt. Lebanon singer who broke out last year with the hit “Hide Away,” will release her debut album, “Sit Still, Look Pretty,” on Oct. 7 on the Artbeatz label.

The follow-up to her EP “Daya” was recorded in Los Angeles with executive producer Gino "Farrago" Barletta.

“I have been working tirelessly on this record for almost a year now. It’s the most authentic representation of me as an artist so far, and each song carries a piece of me,” Daya said in a statement. “I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve received over the past year and it still feels surreal to be releasing my first album. I am so stoked for the world to finally hear it!!”

The title track, an electropop declaration of personal independence, hit the top 10 on iTunes overall songs chart last week, has amassed more than 80 million Spotify streams and jumped to No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100. It is her third Top 40 hit, the other one being her appearance on The Chainsmokers song “Don’t Let Me Down,” which was also nominated for an MTV Video Music Award.

The album will be available for pre-order on Sept. 16.

Daya, who has been touring throughout the summer and just concluded her first Canadian tour, will embark on her first-ever headline tour in early 2017. For more information, visit www.theofficialdaya.com.
