West Virginia was picked sixth in the Big 12's preseason media poll released today.
The Mountaineers finished 41 points behind fifth-place Texas and just three points ahead of seventh-place Kansas State. TCU and Baylor, which were conference co-champions last season, were first and second in the poll, respectively. Oklahoma was third, and Oklahoma State was fourth.
Despite returning the majority of a much-improved defense from a team that finished 7-6 last season, West Virginia faces a number of key questions on offense, particularly at quarterback and wide receiver.
The Mountaineers' season begins Sept. 5 at home against Georgia Southern.
