Steelers invite Pitt kicker Chris Blewitt to rookie minicamp

Pitt had five players drafted last weekend, seven sign as undrafted free agents and three invited to rookie minicamps. Now, add Chris Blewitt to that list.

The Steelers have invited Blewitt to their rookie minicamp May 12-14, per Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi’s Twitter.

Blewitt finished his Pitt career second in school history in scoring and holds the school record for longest field goal at 56 yards. He’ll also go down in Panthers lore as the man whose 48-yard field goal with six seconds remaining handed eventual national champion Clemson its only loss last season.

If Blewitt makes the roster, he’ll have a high standard set by Chris Boswell, who twice kicked six field goals in a game last season.
