NFL mock draft 2017: Ray Fittipaldo picks the first round

1. Cleveland: Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M — The Browns can’t turn their back on an elite pass rusher.

2. San Francisco: Solomon Thomas, DT, Stanford — Disruptive interior player with potential on the edge.

3. Chicago: Jamal Adams, S, LSU — The Bears need playmakers in the secondary and Adams is the best safety in the draft.

4. Jacksonville: Jonathan Allen, DT, Alabama — Tom Coughlin will rebuild his defense first.

Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia will take to the podium to announce a future Steelers player.

5. Tennessee: Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State — The top corner in the draft goes off the board early.

7. Los Angeles Chargers: Mike Williams, WR, Clemson — Phillip Rivers gets another playmaker on the outside.

9. Cincinnati: Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama — A match made in heaven.

18. Tennessee: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama — The best tight end in the draft is a throwback who can catch and block.

19. Tampa Bay: Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State — A player to pair with Vernon Hargreaves for years to come.

20. Denver: Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama — A Day 1 starter at left tackle for the line-needy Broncos.

21. Detroit: John Ross, WR, Washington — Matt Stafford could use another weapon to go with Golden Tate and Marvin Jones.

22. Miami: Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan — The Dolphins want some youth on their aging defensive line.

23. New York Giants: Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida — The Giants have to begin restocking their linebacker corps.

24. Oakland: Zach Cunningham, LB, Vanderbilt — Another defensive playmaker added to this team on the rise.

31. Atlanta: Takk McKinley, OLB, UCLA — The Super Bowl proved the Falcons could use some better defensive players.
