Steelers: Leftwich will start over injured Roethlisberger

One day after coach Mike Tomlin declared Ben Roethlisberger "questionable" for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens, the Steelers announced on their website that Byron Leftwich will start.

On Steelers.com, the team reported Leftwich will make his first start since 2009, when he started three games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker sacked Roethlisberger in the third quarter of the Steelers' overtime win Monday, leaving the quarterback with a sprained sternoclavicular joint, according to the team website.

Leftwich played the rest of the game, going 7-for-14 for 73 yards.
