An 0-3-2 start was not how Riverhounds SC expected to start the 2024 USL Championship season. Not after posting the league’s best record in 2023.
Saturday night in Phoenix was more like what they expected. Kazaiah Sterling, Edward Kizza and Babacar Diene all scored en route to a 3-1 victory against Phoenix Rising FC.
The Riverhounds (1-3-2) are only the second squad to score multiple goals in a game against Phoenix this season. It was also the Riverhounds’ first win on the road against a Western Conference team since interconference play resumed in 2021.
