Lorri Johnson, Mark May highlight inductees

Lorri Johnson, the all-time career scoring leader in Pitt basketball history and the first female athlete to have a number retired at the school, and offensive lineman-turned-broadcaster Mark May highlight the 2019 Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame class, the school announced Thursday.

Johnson’s 2,312 points scored between 1987-91 are the most by a Panther, male or female. Her No. 24 jersey was retired this past January.

May was an All-American tackle who was picked 20th overall in the 1981 NFL draft. He became best known among a newer generation of fans for his work as a college football analyst on ESPN.
