Andrew and Maria McCutchen announce birth of second son

Andrew and Maria McCutchen couldn’t let the decade end without letting everyone know that their family just welcomed an exciting new addition.

Maria took to Instagram Monday to announce the birth of their second child, Armani X. McCutchen, who came into the world on Christmas Eve.

“The X signifies 10 years that Andrew and I have been together,” Maria wrote in the post to explain her son’s unorthodox middle name. “It was the best Christmas ever.”

Armani is the couple’s second son. Their first, Steel, is a little more than two years old.

Andrew certainly seemed excited to share the good news with his Twitter followers.

He helped end the Pirates’ 20-year losing streak, was the best player on three straight playoff teams and was named the 2013 National League MVP.

Andrew will always be a legend in Pittsburgh, and he clearly appreciates the city as much as Pirates fans still adore him.

“I met my wife there, I started my career there, I’ve gotten married there, we’re going to raise our family there,” he told the Post-Gazette in September. “For us, together, that’s what we’re passionate about and that’s why we want to do it here.”
