All in the family: Felipe Vazquez's sister receives agent certification, will represent Pirates closer

ST. LOUIS — Felipe Vazquez has spoken frequently about his half-sister Prescilla’s stewardship of his career. In April, he changed his last name to match hers. Now, she’s his agent.

Vazquez worked in conjunction with Magnus Sports, Felipe’s agency, to get her agent certification.

“[I’m] more comfortable knowing she actually has my career in her hands,” Felipe Vazquez said. “It makes me a little more confident in what I can do, so she can take care of everything.”

Vazquez asked Magnus Baseball president Scott Shapiro if Shapiro could help Prescilla get her certification.

“They’ve got a good relationship right now,” he said.

Vazquez said Prescilla eventually might want to take on other clients.

“She’ll learn quickly,” he said. “I’m not worried about her not knowing stuff.”
