Penguins preview: A fan's guide to games in Pittsburgh

Some helpful information for fans interested in attending a Penguins game this season at PPG Paints Arena: 

Single-game tickets: Penguins tickets are available for purchase through Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com, by calling 1-800-745-3000 or visiting any Ticketmaster retail location. Tickets also are available for purchase at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Box Office, located in the PPG Paints Arena lobby and accessible through the Highmark entrance at the corner of Centre Avenue and Washington Place. 

Season tickets: Full season and half-season packages are available. Call 1-800-642-PENS or 412-642-PENS, or visit nhl.com/penguins.

Select PPG Paints Arena policies: Masks are recommended per federal guidelines for all guests while inside the arena, except while actively eating or drinking. 

The Penguins will start the season without captain Sidney Crosby, who is recovering after wrist surgery.

PPG Paints Arena is a fully cashless arena, ensuring contactless options for food, beverages and merchandise purchases. Cash will not be accepted. 

Bags are prohibited. Exceptions, upon inspection: medical equipment bag, diaper bag accompanying a child and clutches/wallets not exceeding 8 inches x 5 inches x 1 inch.

Parking: Parking is available in the Jim Shorkey surface lots, adjacent to PPG Paints Arena (1001 Fifth Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh). Cash or credit card payment is accepted upon entry, based on game day availability. Parking fees vary. Early arrival is encouraged. Fans with accessible parking placards are encouraged to park in the Jim Shorkey Chrysler East Lot on Centre Avenue. If spaces are not available, fans will be redirected to the Jim Shorkey Dodge South Lot entrance. Additional parking options are available throughout uptown.

Public transportation: The US Steel Plaza T station (Sixth Avenue at Ross Street) is several blocks away from PPG Paints Arena. There is no fare collection in the Steel Plaza Station. Passengers embarking at Steel Plaza may travel free to any of the other stations in the free fare zone — First Avenue, Wood Street, Gateway Center, North Side and Allegheny. Outbound passengers pay fares when disembarking.

Ride-share zone: Look for the designated pickup and drop-off zone at the corner of Fullerton Street and Wylie Avenue.
