After four weeks of the NFL season, one of the players tied for the league lead in interceptions is a rookie from the WPIAL. Malik Hooker, a safety for the Indianapolis Colts, got his third interception of the season Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. Hooker, a graduate of New Castle High who played at Ohio State, was a first-round draft choice of the Colts and has started three of the first four games. He has 12 tackles.
HANNAH ABRAHAM
Albert Gallatin/Soccer
The West Virginia University women’s soccer team is ranked No. 9 in the country, and one of the Mountaineers’ starting defenders is Hannah Abraham, a junior and graduate of Albert Gallatin. Abraham has helped West Virginia give up only 0.75 goals a game. She also has one goal and two assists. This is Abraham’s first season as a starter. She was a first-team academic all-Big 12 Conference selection last year.
T.J. HOLL
Seneca Valley/Football
A leg injury has T.J. Holl sidelined for the Colgate University football team, but Holl is still the second-leading tackler in the country for NCAA FCS teams. Holl, a junior linebacker from Seneca Valley, had 52 tackles in the first four games, but did not play this past week and dropped to second. He had 18 in one game.
