Where Are They Now: Chase Winovich, Frannie Crouse and Shamar Greene

Winovich has moved into the starting lineup for the University of Michigan. Winovich, a redshirt sophomore, made the first start of his career Saturday against Central Florida and this 6-3, 245-pound defensive end finished with five tackles, including two solo. He had a sack and also forced a fumble. In two games, Winovich, who played quarterback-linebacker at Thomas Jefferson, is third on the team in tackles with 11. He has come on strong since playing only two games last season.

FRANNIE CROUSE

Greensburg C.C. soccer

Crouse is off to a fast start for the Penn State women’s soccer team. Penn State finished non-Big Ten Conference play Sunday with a 2-0 victory against La Salle, and Crouse scored one of the Nittany Lions’ goals. It was her fifth goal in the past three games and gave her a team-high six for the season. Penn State heads into conference play with a record of 4-2-1. Crouse finished her career at Greensburg Central Catholic as the state’s all-time leading goal scorer.

West Mifflin football

There has never been a running back at Slippery Rock University like Shamar Greene. A senior, Greene rushed for 117 yards on 19 carries in a victory against West Chester Saturday and became the first player in Slippery Rock history to reach 4,000 yards rushing. Greene, a West Mifflin graduate, has 4,033 yards rushing. He broke the school record of 3,932 yards by Stan Kennedy. Greene is a former West Mifflin star, rushing for 1,441 yards in 2011 as a senior.
