Perry Traditional Academy used an effective passing game to improve to 5-0 in City League play with a 34-12 win against North Side rival Oliver last night at Cupples Stadium.
Perry quarterback Desmond Brentley completed 12 of 21 passes for 174 yards, including touchdown passes of 6, 58, 23 and 23 yards. Gary Nolan caught two of the scoring tosses, while Aundre Wright led the receiving corps with four receptions for 86 yards, including a 58-yard touchdown catch.
Eric Garland's 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter highlighted Oliver's scoring. The Bears, who trailed by just 12-6 at halftime, fall to 2-4, 2-3 in the City League with the loss.

Brashear 43, Westinghouse 14
The Bulls (4-2) jumped out to a 29-2 halftime lead and then coasted by the Bulldogs (1-4). Darnell Payne and C.K. Mayo each ran for two Brashear touchdowns with Payne rushing for 128 yards on 13 carries. The Bulls outgained Westinghouse on the ground, 307-42.
Westinghouse quarterback Donte Green passed for 331 yards in a losing effort, completing 13 of 31 passes.
He tossed second-half touchdown passes of 86 yards to Micah Dawkins and 65 yards to Eric Paxson, who had a team-high eight receptions for 178 yards.
