Three Pine-Richland football players make 6A all-state team

The Pine-Richland High School football team gives a Special K’s flavor to the Class 6A all-state team.

Kristofic. King. Katic. Those three Pine-Richland seniors all made the Pennsylvania Football Writers All-State Team for Class 6A that was released Thursday afternoon. The Class 2A and 4A teams also were released Thursday. The Class 1A, 3A and 5A teams will be released Friday afternoon.

The Pine-Richland players on the team are offensive lineman Andrew Kristofic, offensive lineman Mike Katic and linebacker Tyler King. Kristofic and King made it for the second consecutive season while this is the first time Katic was selected. All three helped Pine-Richland win a WPIAL Class 6A title for the second consecutive season, and all three will play college football at FBS schools - Kristofic at Notre Dame, Katic at Indiana and King at Navy. All three also made the Post-Gazette Fabulous 22 while Katic and Kristofic were selected the P-G’s co-Players of the Year for WPIAL Class 6A.
