Kenny Pickett is a Super Bowl champion, and that fact was hammered home Sunday night on Pitt’s campus.
After the Eagles’ 40-22 thrashing of the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, Pitt students and a gang of green rushed the Oakland campus to celebrate. As part of the fun, chants of “Ken-ny Pick-ett” reverberated through the night air, paying playful homage to the former Panthers and Steelers quarterback who closed out the game with a kneel-down.
The requisite pole-climbing and “Let’s Go Birds” chants were also present for the Philadelphia faithful, as the party shifted to the western part of the state for a night.
The crowd caused road closures throughout Oakland for about an hour after the game ended as the crowd moved down Forbes Avenue.

This is PITTSBURGH’s University neighborhood Oakland (Carlow, Pitt & CMU) right now. Lots of Philly students celebrating their Iggles. Enjoy. Obey the Law. Stay of the light poles. pic.twitter.com/UQDtHuJuRl
