Running back Paris Brown a late addition to Pitt's 2019 recruiting class

As attention shifts to what Pitt will do with the next couple of batches of football prospects — current high school juniors and sophomores who make up the 2020 and 2021 recruiting classes, respectively — coach Pat Narduzzi nabbed what may be one final member of his 2019 class.

Paris Brown, a running back from Powder Springs, Ga., has committed to the Panthers, a decision he announced Tuesday on Twitter.

Rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals.com and 247 Sports, Brown becomes the 20th commitment in Pitt’s 2019 recruiting class, one Rivals ranks as the 50th-best class in the country. He also held offers from, among others, South Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Iowa State, Appalachian State, Florida International and Arkansas State.

As a senior last season at McEachern High School, Brown rushed for 1,102 yards and 16 touchdowns while averaging about seven yards per carry.

He becomes the third running back in the Panthers’ 2019 class, joining Daniel Carter and Vincent Davis, both three-star recruits from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Once at Pitt, Brown will compete with not just those two, but a backfield returning A.J. Davis, Todd Sibley Jr., V’Lique Carter, Mychale Salahuddin and Kyle Vreen.
