Have questions about you pet’s health, nutrition or behavior? Veterinarian Ariella Samson, chief veterinary officer at Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, will answer them, live and online, on Saturday, which happens to be World Veterinary Day.
The live Q&A begins at 2 p.m. Saturday. Go to HARP’s Facebook page (Facebook.com/humaneanimalrescue) to ask questions. You do not have to be a Facebook member or a regular user to participate.
Before it begins, you can submit questions to Dr. Samson by email at submit@humaneanimalrescue.org.
Dr. Samson lives in Squirrel Hill with rescue dogs Petey and Taza “and her incredibly supportive husband, Jeff,” she says in a news release. Her special professional interests are animal behavior, population health and antimicrobial stewardship.
She’s an honors graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, where she was a Sonata and Dvorak Behavioral Medicine Award winner and and Lily Ireland scholar.
She received a bachelor’s degree in veterinary sciences with a minor in equine studies from the University of Maryland, where she was a Presidential Scholar. In 2019, Dr. Samson completed a specialty internship in shelter medicine as an intern at Maddie’s Shelter with the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and the Animal Care and Control Team of Philadelphia.
