Dirty playing makes hockey not enjoyable to watch

I am not a hockey fan. After seeing the dirty hit that injured the Penguins’ Zach Aston-Reese on Tuesday night (May 2, “Wilson’s Hit Breaks Jaw of Rookie Aston-Reese”), it is easy to understand why. What I see is cheating and bad sportsmanship, not only in the playoff games but throughout the season. The league allows this to go on. I see fighting that the officials allow to go on too long.

I truly do not understand how this game can be called a sport. It’s a shame that the children who like to watch and play hockey are learning how to play unfairly and to try to win without regard to their opponents’ well-being.
