At least two tornadoes touched down in Washington County as storms moved through the region Saturday night.
The National Weather Service in Moon said tornadoes were confirmed near Green Hills, south of the Washington County Airport, about 8:20 p.m. and in the unincorporated area of Prosperity, south of Green Hills.
Heavy rain from the storm system also was responsible for the cancellation of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ game against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday night.
Duquesne Light Co. reported about midnight that nearly 1,100 of its customers in the region were without power.
We have video confirmation of a tornado touching down in Washington County via the Prosperity Fire Department from an earlier storm.
