Motorcyclist dies after Lower Burrell collision with car

One man was killed in a motorcycle accident along Route 366 in Lower Burrell on Saturday afternoon.

Westmoreland County Coroner Ken Bacha has identified the victim as 20-year old Adam Garvin of Plum.

Around 1 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Route 366 and Westmoreland Avenue, Mr. Garvin’s motorcycle collided with a Ford Fusion that had “pulled out of an access road” to cross into the eastbound lanes of Route 366, the coroner’s report said.

Mr. Garvin was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident but was “separated from the motorcycle” upon collision, according to the report.

Cause and manner of death won’t be released until after an autopsy and toxicology reports are completed. The toxicology reports won’t be available for several weeks, the report said.
