The state Department of Transportation has reduced the speed limit on a stretch of Interstate 81 in Carlisle, Cumberland County where 11 people have been killed since July.
The speed limit will drop from 65 mph to 55 mph from the Middlesex interchange at Exit 52 to Exit 44 in Plainfield, PennDOT spokesman Greg Penny said.
New signs will start going up tomorrow, weather permitting, and state police could begin enforcing the 55 mph speed limit by Friday.
